The mission of OVF is to help people transform their own lives and the culture around them by seeking first, as Jesus Christ established here, the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

At the heart of our work are three core beliefs.

The Kingdom. The first is the belief we are most truly human, when we are most like Jesus Christ, and live in, and witness to, His Kingdom here on earth. That means we also believe that we are only truly like Him when we are focused on the needs of others.

The Church. The second belief at the core of our work is the understanding that the world-view of Orthodox Christianity can make a dramatic and beneficial impact on the lives of Americans and the United States itself. The fullness of the Truth of the Good News of Jesus Christ is most fully expressed in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and in it we can find ourselves in the Kingdom of God.

Leverage. The third belief is that OVF seeks to make the most of every opportunity, leveraging each resource we’ve been blessed to manage on God’s behalf. We do this by boldly partnering with others, including our own donees, and by creating and supporting initiatives, like the first conference of all canonical bishops in the Americas, IOCC, OCMC, FOCUS North America and our OVF Advanced Leadership Initiative. We even do this by developing new ways to execute ministries (for example our Becoming Truly Human film or by our support of the fast-growing new ministry Faithtree Resources).

All three of these core beliefs seek to maximize the impact and reach of the Orthodox Christian Church in this country. All three of these beliefs inform and guide everything we do at OVF.

The Scriptures teach us to “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” At Orthodox Vision Foundation, we think that happens most fully when we do that as Christ has called us to: together.
